Buhari Appoints Ibrahim Idris New Acting IGP As Arase Retires (Photos)


President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Ibrahim Kpotum Idris new inspector general of police.
Arase who retires from office today after reaching the 60 years retirement age and Ibrahim Idris were invited to a closed-door meeting with President Buhari at the state house Abuja.

Breaking: EFCC Freezes Gov. Fayose’s Account

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) has allegedly frozen the Zenith bank account of the Ekiti State,governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose. Governor Fayose who spoke on the development said he issued a counter cheque only to be told his personal account had been Frozen by the anti-graft agency.
The governor’s personal account in the Zenith Bank, Ekiti branch, was allegedly frozen on the order of the anti-graft agency, according to a source in the bank.

Reps Sex Scandal: Dogara Dares America to prove Allegation Against Lawmakers

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has dared the united states government to prove it allegation level against Nigeria lawmakers, Samuel Ikon (PDP-Akwa Ibom), Mohammed Gololo (APC-Bauchi State) and Mark Gbillah (APC-Benue State).
The three law makers were accused of sex related offenses while on an official trip to the United States.
The allegations were contained in a June 9 petition to Mr. Dogara by American Ambassador to Nigeria, James Entwistle.

Governor Udom Debunks Rumours Of Pipeline Vandalisation In Akwa-'Ibom

Governor Udom Emmanuel has described the alleged bombing of Nigerian National Petroleum Cooperation's pipeline at Ikot Osute in Oruk Anam Local Government Area of the State as a fictitious imagination of mischief makers.
Governor Udom made the clarification while interacting with Government House correspondents at Ibom International Airport shortly on arrival from Abuja.
He explained that the pipes suffered a defect due to excess pressure which resulted in the bursts and that a team of Engineers from Seven Energy have been drafted to the scene to repair the damaged pipeline.

Reps In Sex Scandal: US Ambassador To Nigeria Reports 4Lawmakers Over Sexual Misconduct Abroad

The United States Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. James Entwistle, has petitioned the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara, accusing some members of the lower chamber of improper conduct, attempted rape and soliciting for prostitutes while on official trip to the US. But, the affected lawmakers have denied all the allegations and threatened to sue the ambassador and the US government for “character defamation and a calculated attempt to ridicule the National Assembly.”

NLC Issues Notice of strike To FirstBank, Diamond, Ecobank, Others Over Mass Sack

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), on Wednesday, issued a strike notice to six banks threatening to shut down the banks and their outlets nationwide if they failed to recall sacked staffs.
However, the NLC gave the banks a 14-day ultimatum, commencing  from today, “to immediately recall all workers so sacked and allow unionisation of workers or face industrial action.”

EFCC Files N1.5bn Charges Against Fani-Kayode,Others

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has filed a 17 count charge against Femi Fani-Kayode, a former spokesman of the PDP Presidential campaign in the 2015 general election.
The former Aviation Minister and Lawyer is charged over an alleged N1.5 billion fraud. Also included in the charge sheet are former Minister of Finance, Senator Nenadi Usman, a company named Joint Trust Dimensions Limited, one Danjuman Yusuf and another Olubode Oke, who is reportedly on the run.

The Nigerian Football Federation made a shocking announcement of the death of another former Super Eagles coach, Amodu. Amodu who had four spells as the coach of the Nigeria football team was said to have complained of chest pains on Friday before he died Saturday morning.
According to sources, a cousin of the Edo State born sportsman named Akuri Afegbua in details revealed how the former coach died. He said Amodu died after complaining of pain in the left side of his chest.
He further mentioned with teary eyes that the former NFF Technical Director was frustrated by the NFF and the Edo State Government on the issue of his non-payment of his financial entitlements.
Afegbua also said that Shaibu complained on how his financial status had made it difficult for him to attend to his needs and that of his immediate family.

A three hundred level student of Anambra state University,Prosper has committed suicide after his girlfriend disappointed him. Prosper reportedly died around 2:00am on Sunday night after he drank popular rat poison, Sniper. According to sources, prosper reportedly drank ‘Sniper’ after sending his girlfriend a text message saying that by this morning he should have been dead.

Breaking: Lil Wayne Suffers Seizure, Flight Makes Emergency Landing

Lil Wayne's private jet was forced to make an emergency landing in Nebraska as the rapper suffered a seizure, according to a report from TMZ. The rapper was reportedly on his way from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to California at the time and had blacked out upon the plane's landing. Wayne was later reported to be awake and alert but refusing medical attention.
Wayne's plane took off but was forced to return to the Omaha airport after just a few minutes as Wayne suffered a second seizure. He is reportedly now being treated on the plane on the tarmac.
This is the fourth high-profile seizure the rapper has suffered in the past four years, dating back to October 2012.
