Between chris, Malaak Rock and Rosario Dawson

Chris has been in the news this couple of days for one reason or the other, from divorcing his former wife Malaak of nearly 20year to dating a co star, Rosario Dawson and now child custody issues.

Comedian Chris Rock announced yesterday that he and his wife of over 18 years Malaak Rock are divorcing and looks like he made the announcement so he could officially go public with his new love interest, his Top 5 co-star, Rosario Dawson.

The couple got married in 1996 and have two daughters together, 12year- old Lola Simone and 10-year old Zahra Savannah.

According to Media take out,

"They didn't want to announce it while their movie Top 5 was still being released - cause they didn't want people thinking that Rosario is some type of home wrecker. She's not, Chris hasn't been with his wife in about two years" a source told MTO.

MTO's snitch continued, "They got together while making Top 5 . . but kept it quiet. Now I think Chris filed the papers on Malaak because he wants to go public with it."

Now,according to TmZ, Chris wants to make sure his now estranged wife doesn't punish him for divorcing her ... by keeping their kids away from him.In his divorce docs, filed in NJ last Tuesday, Rock complains that Malaak has been preventing him from seeing their 2 daughters on a regular basis. Rock acknowledges they had a prenup when they married in 1996 -- but says it's expired because they've been together for just over 18 years.The split has been in the works for at least a month. In the docs, Rock says back in November they identified all the community property to be split up once they divorce. Interestingly ... Rock points out Malaak has the "ability to work and contribute to her own support" -- which sounds like he's angling to reduce any spousal support payments.
