The Festival in Nasarawa state you have Never heard of...Erehwa

 The Erehwa festival is celebrated by the EGBIRA people  of Nasarawa state in a village called SOFIYO under TOTO Local Government Area.

 The Festival which is celebrated on the 12month of every year is to show their fore fathers bravery in hunting of diferent kinds of wild animals and to unite during the festival.

 The hunters go hunting three days before the festival and appear with their hunts on the festival day.

The hunter with the wildest or biggest hunt is rewarded either with a car, motorbike or a trip to the Holy Land, Mecca or Jerusaleam.
The animals are  arrange in the centre With the crowd gathered around and shots are fired sporadically into the air.

 This however signifies Unity,vitory over their prey and d way they come by them.
The Festival is not unpopular mongst the people of Nasarawa state as most of their prominet sons and daughters come from far and near to part of the celebration every year!!
