Pandemonium in Yola as soldiers,civilian JTF clash

The famous Jimeta Shopping complex of Adamawa State was Friday thrown into a serious pandemonium following the clash between some soldiers and the civilian JTF.
Reports say  that trouble started as a result of a search team of four newly commissioned soldiers attached to a battalion based in Abuja came in mufty looking for a sister of one of them who was said to be in the custody of one of the shop owners in the shopping complex.
The soldiers went straight to a shop owner, whom the suspected was keeping the lady and inquired from him the where about of the lady in question.
He (shop owner) directed them to where to meet the lady while accepting the directives of the shop owner proceeded to the main gate of the market where they met a military Hilux vehicle loaded with soldiers.
When they narrated their experience to their colleagues in uniform, they were told to go back to the shop owner for proper inquiries about the runaway sister.
It was at this stage that the Chairman of the Civilian JTF in the shopping, Mallam Bako Ali Kurna arrived to stop the fracas between the soldiers and the shop owner.
The plea by the JTF chairman did not go down well with the armed soldiers and in the ensuing confusion, the chairman of the civilian JTF was shot four times, but the soldiers missed their target.
A police inspector overseeing the gate of the shopping complex was hit on the nose by stray bullet and is now receiving medical attention at an undisclosed hospital.
In the ensuring confusion and as the crowd continue to increase, the armed soldiers led by a lieutenant started shooting sporadically into air to scare away the sourcing crowd.
Before the soldiers zoomed off, the chairman of the civilian JTF, Bako Ali who attempted to alert the 23rd Armoured Brigade of the Nigerian Army had his handset snatched by the fleeing soldiers.
The Chairman of the civilian JTF, in charged  of security in the shopping complex has confirmed the development adding that  a report has been lodged with the military and DSS, while the shells of the shot bullets have been lodged with the DSS.
Military  sources at  the 23 Armoured Brigade in Yola have confirmed the skirmishes but that full scale investigation is in progress.z
