Okonjo-Iweala Vists chibok, Lays Foundation to rebuild the school


 Nigeria's government on Friday said that work had begun to rebuild a school in the northeastern town of Chibok from where Boko Haram gunmen kidnapped more than 200 girls last year.
Finance minister Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala laid the foundation stone at the Government Secondary School on Thursday on behalf of President Goodluck Jonathan, a statement from her office said.
Nigeria’s Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy ,Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala  has laid the foundation stone for the rebuilding of Government Secondary School Chibok, which was destroyed by Boko Haram.

Okonjo-Iweala who was in Chibok as  representative of President Goodluck Jonathan said  the  administration is determined to root out insurgency in the North-east region to enable residents of the area return to normal life.

"We sympathize with the Chibok community. We know what you are going through. But I want to assure you that we are working day and night, she said.
