3 Reasons ISIS accepted Boko-Haram's Allegiance

The Islamic State (ISIS) terrorist group has accepted the pledge of allegiance extended by its Nigerian counterpart, Boko Haram.
The acceptance was announced by the spokesperson for the Middle-Eastern group, Abu Mohammed al-Adnani via an audio tape.
Experts had said that Boko Haram’s pledge was mere propaganda but ISIS’s acceptance has quashed those opinions.

Here are three possible reasons why ISIS accepted Boko Haram’s pledge:

Because the idea of a partnership has been widely dismissed: Experts all around the world had dismissed Boko Haram’s pledge of allegiance saying that it was simply for the sake of propaganda. Nigerian military sources said that the pledge was a cry for help from Boko Haram which has suffered many defeats at the hands of troops in recent times. ISIS probably decided to accept the pledge to prove the naysayers wrong.
To strike fear in the hearts of all: The very notion of an ISIS/Boko Haram partnership is extremely frightening and experts have expressed concerns at the devastation that such an allegiance could wreak. The Middle-Eastern group thrives on fear and propaganda thus it probably couldn’t resist the chance to cause panic by accepting Boko Haram’s pledge.
As a show of strength: Military pressure against both Boko Haram and ISIS has been increased in recent times; A multinational force has been formed to tackle the Nigerian group while ISIS has been battered with airstrikes from the US, Jordan and Egypt among others. Announcing a partnership helps both groups convince their individual enemies that they have become a more formidable foe.
