Kendrick Lamar announces engagement after 10-year romance to high school sweetheart

 Kendrick Lamar, today announced engagement to his high school sweetheart Whitney Alford after a 10-year romance.
The two-time Grammy winner met his much taller fiancée at Compton's Centennial High School the same school Dr. Dre spent his freshman year in 1979.
In January, Lamar - born Duckworth - told Billboard that Whitney was his 'best friend' and 'somebody I can tell my fears to.'
'She has always been someone, since day one, who has said something whenever I'm an a**hole, or also if I'm doing something positive but more so when I'm out of my element,' Kendrick told Interview Magazine.
Lamar confirmed it to power 105.1fm today:
'Yeah, yeah, definitely,' the 27-year-old rapper confirmed to Power 105.1's Breakfast Club. 'I'm loyal to the soil.'
