Mr. Stephen Mayaki the Kogi State Commissioner for Land and Housing was on Sunday, kidnapped by gunmen. It was gathered that Mayaki was kidnapped at gun point on his farm, located in Osara community,in Adavi Local Government Area.
A source said the gunmen, numbering about five, in a Prado Jeep, traced Mayaki to his farm, where he had gone to see the extent of work done. The source said the commissioner was in the farm when gunmen emerged from the bush and took him away to an unknown destination. He added that the motive of kidnappers was yet to be ascertained as they were yet to contact the family members, while the incident had been reported to the police. The state police command Public Relations Officer, Collins Adebayo, confirmed the kidnapping.
