Six school children may have died following a boat mishap which occurred in the early hours of Wednesday in Lagos.
The school children who are yet to be identified were said to have been travelling to school from the Ojo area to Irewe area, and Island across the Lagos Lagoon but met their unfortunate end when their boat capsized.
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) in a statement said the children were 14, but eight were rescued alive while six remained unaccounted for.
NEMA spokesman Ibrahim Farinloye added that the boat conveying the school children to their destination lost control after a speed boat overtook it.
