The pediatrician came in and told us that (the nurse) was feeding him and burping him, and she was drowsy and fell asleep and dropped him,” Hunt told WPXI.
The hospital has started an internal investigation into what happened with the nurse, a 30-year veteran. Eli’s family also called the cops.“If she was tired, she should have known professionally not to pick up this child.”

The hospital said a battery of tests immediately after the fall found no injuries to the child, but he was airlifted to the Pittsburgh children’s hospital as a precaution.
Once there, doctors found he had a fractured skull and was bleeding on the right side of his skull, Hunt said.The neckbrace was removed Wednesday and Eli is expected to fully recover without any surgery.
“It’s just heartbreaking. I mean, if it was an accident, you can admit and tell us it was an accident. There's no need to lie,” Hunt told the news station.
