Photos: UNIBEN Students Takes Over Benin-Lagos Expressway Over Killing Of Colleague By Army Patrol vehicle

Students of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) in Edo State, South-South Nigeria, have laid siege to the Benin-Lagos Expressway in protest of the death of two students allegedly knocked down by an Army patrol vehicle.
The students led by the President of the Student Union Government (SUG), Comrade Omorogbe, are demanding for a pedestrian bridge across the road, and a speed breaker on the 8-lane road to prevent a recurrence of such incidents.

The students further requested that a flyover should be constructed at the university gate within a year.
Travellers are said to be stranded on the road. The aggrieved students are said to be determined to get a
positive response from the relevant authorities.

While addressing the protesting student, the Dean of UNIBEN Student Affairs, Professor Francis Osagiede, assured them that the university authority would look into their demands as soon as possible.
