In addition, Nganga is accused of giving false information to the police. The preacher was held at the Gigiri Police Station until a bond hearing set for Friday.
According to the police, Nganga caused the death of Njeri, who was a passenger in a different car driven by her husband, when the preacher drove his Ranger Rover on the wrong side of the road in Limuru area.
The preacher tried to cover up his involvement by switching drivers. He is alleged to have fled the scene in a different car, leaving his personal driver, Simon Kuria, behind to take responsibility for the crash. Kuria has been charged with giving false information.Police claim that Nganga used his influence to beat justice.
Also charged are Limuru Traffic Commandant Patrick Baya and police inspector Christopher Nzilu. The two are accused of aiding the preacher to evade prosecution.
