Father Of Two Commits Suicide Over Chronic Ulcer In Abuja

A 45year-old man in the Dei-Dei, area of Bwari threw residents of the area of the Federal Capital Territory to a rude shock on Sunday when the father of three reportedly committed suicide.
The deceased, Ibukun Oyedeji, was said to have taken his life after a protracted battle with chronic ulcer that defied medical attention.

City News gathered that the deceased, a father of two, and a manager of a shop at the popular timber shade in the area, ate some quantities of shaving powder after dropping a suicidal note.

The source said he was discovered by some of his neighbors in his room around 3pm lying unconscious and foaming from the mouth with the left-over of the poisonous substance inside the cup and the note by his side.
The source further revealed that he was immediately rushed to the Kubwa general hospital where he later gave up few hours later.
“He might have taken that drastic decision after several visits to different hospitals with no sign of improvement,” a neighbour said
Confirming the incident, the Kubwa Divisional Police Officer, Chief Superintendent Nurrudeen Sabo, described the death as unfortunate, saying the corpse has been released to the family of the deceased for burial.
