Three people yesterday,Wednesday died after a trailer carrying a 40-foot container fell off a bridge at Ojuelegba, Lagos.
The horrific incident, which occurred during the 5 p.m. rush hour, saw two vehicles a white Toyota and a black jeep mutilated under the weight of the container.
The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency confirmed the death toll, and added that rescue efforts were still ongoing.
Witnesses said the driver of the trailer lost control of the vehicle on the bridge before it fell over.
He said,
“The container on the 40-feet trailer suddenly fell off the bridge and crushed two private cars.
“The driver of the trailer wanted to flee, but we apprehended him. There is chaos everywhere.” as reported by Punch.

“People were screaming and before we knew it, it had landed on those two vehicles moving along the road,” said a witness who did not want to be named.Another witness, who identified himself as Sir J, said the accident happened around 4.50pm.
“It would be difficult for any of the occupants in those vehicles to survive.” he saida white Toyota and a black jeep.
He said,
“It happened around 4.50pm, as we were all in the park doing our businesses.
“The container on the 40-feet trailer suddenly fell off the bridge and crushed two private cars.
“The driver of the trailer wanted to flee, but we apprehended him. There is chaos everywhere.” as reported by Punch.
