Tribunal Adjourns to rule on Saraki ‘s Absence For 1hour

The Code of Conduct tribunal has adjourned for an hour  and will return later to rule on the absence of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, at it today's sitting in Abuja.

Saraki was absent when the panel commenced its sitting on Monday.
The tribunal’s chairman, Justice Danladi Umar, said the panel will rule on whether it can proceed without Saraki’s presence, to rule on the application challenging its jurisdiction.

Justice Umar and Saraki’s lead counsel, Joseph Daudu (SAN), had argued on whether it was appropriate for the Senate President to shun the panel’s sitting, considering his status as the nation’s number three citizen.

Meanwhile, Several supporters of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki , today stormed CCT, awaiting his arrival and heavy security operatives were deployed to the court with few individuals, including staff, journalists and politicians allowed entry into the premises.
