Photos: The Moment Gay couple gets Engaged on the Beijing Subway

A commuter is Said to have captured this moment Metro.co.uk describes as "Special" where a man proposed to his boyfriend on a Beijing subway.

Considering that homosexuality was only legalised in China in 1997 and taken off the Psychiatric Association’s list of mental illnesses in 2001, this engagement is as brave as it is beautiful, Metro.co.uk reports.
Not only did the fellow passengers show acceptance with smiles, the video has been getting a lot of love on social media in China.
The video is said to have been  uploaded by Bai Yi Yan on to Weibo, the Chinese version of Twitter.
It was described by one user as ‘a beautiful moment’.
Another said their ‘heart was melted’.
One woman commented: ‘You should admire their courage’
And this user proclaimed: ‘Everyone has the right to the pursuit of love.’

While the majority of comments have celebrated the beautiful engagement, not all the responses were so positive, with some calling it ‘disgusting.’
Sadly these guys won’t be able to tie the knot in their own country right now, as the Chinese government has not yet allowed same-sex ceremonies.
