A three-man panel sitting in Abuja had earlier today, 16th December 2015 upheld the October 24th verdict of the Rivers state Governorship tribunal which nullified the election of Nyesom Wike as governor of the state.
Justice M.B. Dongban-Mensem who delivered the judgment ruled that the election of Nyesom Wike did not conform with the electoral act, therefore ordering rerun with 90days.

Dakuku Peterside, the All Progressives Congress's governorship candidate had filed a petition at the election tribunal, challenging Wike's victory in the April 11th election allegedly marred by violence.
