The Department of State Services, DSS were Thursday compelled to parade Hon. Afolabi Akanni, a member of the Ekiti state House of Assembly after the state commissioner for information, youth, sports and culture reported that he had died in custody of the on agency.
The Honourable member was paraded yesterday afternoon to prove that he was still alive and well.
The member was seen wearing a rubber bathroom slippers as the DSS paraded him to some journalists at the agency’s headquarters, among which included The Punch newspaper.
Hon. Akanni has been in the custody of the DSS for more than a week now and so far nothing has been said on why he was arrested.
Meanwhile, a Federal High Court in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State, had on Friday 11th March, 2016 ordered the release of Hon. Afolabi Akanni after he was arrested from Ekiti State House of Assembly.
