Buhari reportedly called off the trip after contacting a disturbing “ear infection”, according to Sahara Reporters. Buhari’s visit would have been the first in 14years a sitting president visited the state but unfortunately the visit will stretch a little longer.
The online publication also claimed that the cancellation of the trip has a political connotation as Buhari was reportedly unhappy with a meeting the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Leader Bola Tinubu had with organized labor under the aegis of the NLC (Nigeria Labor Congress) last week without clearance from the Presidency.
Buhari will now be represented at various official events scheduled for the two-day visit by the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo.
