Akwa-Ibom state governor Udom Emmanuel has appointed Nollywood actor, Imeh Bishop Popularly known as Okon Lagos Special Assistant on Ethical and Social Reorientation.

Over 2000 Youth Corp members In Akwa-Ibom NYSC camp yesterday 8th May engaged in what they refer to as 'Endurance Trekking.
The corp members from ten platoon guarded by soldiers and Man-o-war left the Nsit Atai orientation camp ground at about 7:30Am. They walked along the roads and at some point through the bushes to test their endurance. Some members are said to have fainted and rushed to the camp clinic where they were resuscitated in the course of the trek.
