Governor Ayade Bags Most-Labour Friendly Governor Award

Cross River State governor, Ben Ayade has been conferred with Most-Labour Friendly Governor Award in Nigeria.
The former Senator was honored at an award night and dinner which took place at the Cultural Center Complex in Calabar, the state capital.

Cross River Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, John Ushie, said that the Governor was chosen for the award for a number of reasons which include the prompt payment of workers’ salaries in a period where most of their colleagues were owed salaries in months and the courage to embark on economy changing projects.
Governor Ayade was honoured in the presence of his deputy and some other political appointees during a May Day celebration.
Meanwhile in an unprecedented move, Cross River state civil servants received their May salaries on the first day of the month.
The state workers had been getting their income in the third week of the month following an agreement the Governor reportedly have with some banks whereby he does not await for allocation from the federation account before paying worker
